Fun 4th of July yesterday. Did some housey things -- laundry, cleaning, got the cars washed. Then, we went over to see a friend's new house he just bought and moved into. A cute, but weirdly laid out, 3 bedroom/2 bath just under 1200 square feet. How much did you pay, my Non asked if he could ask. He could, and he did. $752,000. Yeah. We're SO moving from the Bay Area.

Then the new home owner and his sweetie and some other friends and Non and me all went to the annual Chili Cook Off. Tasted chili. Tasted beer. Good afternoon.

Went home just in time to do last minute preparations for our own little shindig. More and different friends came over around 5:00. Talked, laughed, BBQed. Ate. Drank. I interviewed these people, two by two, for this new idea I have to write. Then the questionnaire become fodder for the evening. Everyone was talking about the questions, joking about the questions, trying to guess who answered what for which question. Good times.

We drove 5 minutes down one street, set up camp, and saw fireworks from Shoreline Ampitheatre, except we didn't have to pay to see them, which was good. They were nice, and there was a darling little girl standing next to me and Non who kept saying "WOW!" in her cute little girl voice when more than one firework went off at once.

Came back home, ate a multitude of desserts and drank some more while playing a couple games. Laughed lots. Taunted each other. Talked about llamas more in one evening that I've ever discussed them before.

All in all, a really good day. One of those days that make you sigh contentedly. Jeanne likey.
